ITALIAN GOV'T BAILS OUT GOMOA CLINIC

Mon, 12 Feb 1996 Source: --

Gomoa Obuasi(C/R), Feb 8, The Italian government is assisting the Gomoa district assembly to construct two bungalows for staff of the Gomoa Obuasi clinic. The district chief executive, Mr Kow Anyanful, announced this at a durbar organized by the people of Gomoa Obuasi to climax their annual 'Akwanbo' festival at the weekend. Mr Anyanful said the clinic, which was built at a cost of 35 million cedis provided by the district assembly, could not be commissioned because of lack of accommodation for the staff. He expressed his gratitude to the Italian government for making it possible for the project to take off, and appealed to the contractor, Jokoham Construction Limited, to expedite action on it. Mr Anyanful said the assembly also spent 154 million cedis on the improvement of facilities at Apam, Mozano Community, and Potsin Ahmadiyya secondary schools. Mr Seth Graham, managing director of Billyham Printing Press and chairman of the town's Unit Committee, appealed to the government to extend electricity to the town.
