First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo
In line with the occasion of International Women’s Day, the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo on Thursday, 7 March 2019 engaged some women entrepreneurs on how they can help drive change in the lives of young underprivileged girls in society.
According to Mrs Akufo-Addo, the women entrepreneurs agreed to mentor and train girls under her “Because I want to be” Initiative.
The “Because I want to be” initiative is a Rebecca Foundation Initiative to empower out of school girls with skills training.
International Women's Day, celebrated on 8 March every year is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
