Illegal Free SHS fees: ADISADEL Old Boys condemn GES’ investigative procedure

Members of ADISADEL OLD BOYS ASSOCIATION seem unhappy about the interdiction of their headmaster and the manner in which investigations into his alleged acts of violating GES procedures are being carried out.

Mr. William Kusi-Yeboah was reprimanded by the Ghana Education service (GES) for his alleged involvement in the illegal admission of students and collection of money under the Free Senior High school (SHS) programme.

At a press confab held in Accra, founder of African University College of Communications (AUCC) and a member of The Old Boys Association, Mr Kojo Yankah expressed worry about how ‘unfairly’ the ADISCO headmaster has been treated with regards to the issue.

He also established that the school’s reputation has been questioned due to the ‘inconsiderate’ handling of the case.

Mr Yankah went on further to note that GES threatened to dismiss the headmaster (Mr William Kusi-Yeboah) on several counts at a time the school’s board of governors had not been presented with any evidence of query or reference of his misconduct.

“The GES did not go into details about what the headmaster of ADISADEL College has done. All that was said was that investigations are going on about some issues. We are concerned over the manner in which the reputation of the school has been called to question. As an OLD BOYS ASSOCIATION, we do not dispute the authority of the GES to discipline an employee but we are concerned about the way the issue is handled. This is not the first time the headmaster has been threatened with dismissal. We are not aware of any evidence of the headmaster been queried and there has been no reference of the headmaster’s misconduct or behaviour to the board of governors. This administrative lapse is deeply regretted”. He stated



The Association however has pledged to cooperate with GES in the ongoing investigations with hope that the outcome would be in the ‘best’ interest of educational administration in the country, particularly ADISADEL College.
