Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams captained Athletic Bilbao in their first La Liga game of the season, a 1-1 draw against Getafe.
His brother, Nico Williams, who was recently involved in a transfer saga with Barcelona, made an appearance as a substitute in the 72nd minute, replacing Alex Berenguer.
Inaki Williams played the full game, with Oihan Sancet scoring the opening goal for Athletic Bilbao just before the half-hour mark. Despite some late chances from substitute Nico Williams, the hosts could not secure a winning start.
Getafe's Chrisantus Uche missed an opportunity to give his team the lead in the first half but made amends in the second half by scoring the equalizer.
Nico Williams had a chance to score a late winner for Athletic Bilbao but was denied by Getafe's goalkeeper David Soria.
Athletic Bilbao will face Barcelona in their next league game on August 24th.
