Inauguration Of Ghanaian Community In China.

On the 1st July, Ghanaians living in China elected a 5 member executive to partner the Ghana Embassy to steer the affairs of Ghanaians who sojourn in China. The election became necessary after the demised of the LATE OSEI OWUSU, aka WOFA ATA who acted as a father to all Ghanaians living in China. The inaugural ceremony was held

Pastor Rhans Bafoe who contested the chairman elect was the first person to address the gathering .In his speech, he pledged his total support and commitment to the elected chairman and took the opportunity to admonish his fellow Ghanaians to rally behind the new executives so that the community can achieve it target goals.

The chairman ( Samuel Sherry-Lord Quarshie, Counselor/Head of Consular Affairs ) of the occasion who stood in for Ghana Ambassador to China Her Excellency Mrs. Helen Mamle Kofi who could not attend the meeting due to circumstances beyond her control also addressed the gathering. In speech, he assured the elected executives that the Embassy is solidly behind Ghanaian Community and shall respond appropriately to all the needs of Ghanaians living in China.

During his inaugural address, the chairman elect who is also the CEO of PRIME PRODUCTS INTERNATIONAL, manufacturer of aluminum roofing and doors entreated Ghanaians living in China to be law abiding ,respect each other and live responsibly to enhance CHINA-GHANA relationship.

He took the opportunity to appeal to the chairman of the occasion to help establish consulate section in Guangzhou which is a trade hub of Ghanaians doing business in China. He recounted a number cases his outfit has received since he assumed office such as lost of passports, visa expiration, business people been cheated and so on. He promised that during his tenure in office such cases shall be minimal but Ghanaians trading or living China should channel such cases to his office for resolution.

He also assured his fellow Ghanaians that his outfit shall establish community center which would serve as a common place for all gatherings and general assembly for all Ghanaians. He ended up by expressing profound gratitude to his fellow Ghanaians , invited guests and the Ghana Embassy for honoring the invitation and making the occasion a success
