Nsawkaw (B/A), Jan. 1, GNA - Mr Kwasi Amoafo-Yeboah, Independent Candidate in December 7 Presidential Election, has called on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Presidential Candidate, to concede victory to Professor John Evans Atta Mills of National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking to the GNA at Nsawkaw, he explained that though he did not categorically ask his supporters to vote for the NDC in the Presidential Election Runoff, he was at Tain to boost the morale of NDC.

Mr Amoafo-Yeboah said: "Professor Mills has the majority and the gracious thing for Nana (Akufo-Addo) to do is to throw in the towel".

Even though a section of the media has reported that Professor Mills himself and his running mate Mr John Mahama and Former President J.J. Rawlings and some newly-elected Members of Parliament of the Party were present in the constituency, GNA did not come across them. At Nsawkaw, GNA saw some supporters of NPP singing and shouting that the election should not be held until the impasse over the conflicting results from Ashanti and Volta Regions in the Runoff was resolved by the Electoral Commission.

When President Kufuor visited the tomb of Former Premier Professor Kofi Abrefa Busia at Wenchi, the NPP youths there kept on shouting "No Volta, No Tain", meaning the Volta Region problem should be resolved before the holding of the Tain election.

President Kufuor just waved at them and urged them to exercise restraint.
