Kumasi (ASH), June 26, - Mr Daniel Ohene Agyekum, Ashanti Regional Minister, today said the government is determined to cooperate and work with the minority group in parliament to build consens He noted that without such co-operation to nurture the country's infant democracy, progress in socio-economic development would be difficult. Mr Agyekum was briefing a 13-man delegation from the Indian National Defence College currently on a one-week study tour of the country on the socio-political and economic aspects of the region. The delegation had come to pay a courtesy call on the regional minister at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Kumasi as part of their official visit to Kumasi and the Ashanti Goldfields Company (AGC), Obuasi. Mr Agyekum said, as a true reflection of the political realities in the region, it has the highest constituencies in the country, with the minority group in parliament taking 28 out of the 33 seats as compared to five seats won by the majority group during the last general elections.
