As the country intensifies a war against indiscipline to reduce road accidents, a former Member of Parliament for Nantong, Ibrahim Mutala Mohammed and his supporters appear to be derailing that effort, by hanging campaign posters on traffic lights.
The campaign banners are hoisted to block the traffic light at the busiest interception in Tamale, causing potential danger to motorists.
Mutala Mohammed is aiming to return to parliament at the Tamale Central Constituency where incumbent, Inusah Fuseini, has declared his intention not to contest again.
The former Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry contested and lost the primaries in the same constituency to Inusah Fuseini in 2016 and will hope to lead the National Democratic Congress to parliament in the 2020 polls.
However, this latest act of indiscipline and complete disregard for road safety regulations has angered people, many of who took to social media to express their rage.
