Asokwa Constituency Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Edmund Kyei has taken Solomon Nkansah to the cleaners describing him as “political nuisance”.
He describes Mr Nkansah’s comment about the striking doctors as one borne out of deliberate mischief, blackmail or outright ignorance.
The communications director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday launched a blistering attack at the striking doctors labeling their decision as an attempt to please the NPP by making the Mahama-led administration unpopular.
“Ghanaian doctors love the NPP more than their job,” Solomon Nkansah is reported to have said.
The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has begun a strike that may lead to mass resignation of doctors from the public service across the country.
It follows a deadlocked meeting held Wednesday over the absence of condition of service for doctors and other health workers.
But, Edmund Kyei in an interview with GhanaWeb described as sad and ridiculous impression being created by Solomon Nkansah.
He questioned why the NDC’s chief communicator chose to hurl innuendoes at the doctors instead of addressing their concerns.
While urging Solomon Nkansah to render an unqualified apology to the disgruntled doctors, Mr Kyei minced no words in stating that “the media should refrain from reporting loose cannons”.
“Solomon Nkansah has always been a liability to the NDC and he will never change so why do you grant such a nonentity audience.
"The media should stop reporting this notorious guy,” Edmund Kyei stated furiously.
Against that backdrop, he called on the leadership of the ruling party to take formal disciplinary action against Mr Nkansah if he fails to apologise to the doctors and Ghanaians in general.
