The informant who gave the Greater Accra Regional Police Command the information that led to the arrest of the suspected killer of the late Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North has disclosed who helped the police to arrest the suspect at his hideout in Accra.

The MP, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu was murdered in cold blood at his private residence in Accra Tuesday dawn whilst he was asleep.

The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service with support from the Regional Police Command began a swift investigation into the homicide.

Subsequently, Daniel Asiedu, a 20-year-old ex-convict was allegedly arrested in a dawn operation led by the Accra Regional Police Commander, COP Dr George A. Dampare, on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Old Fadama (Sodom and Gomorra) in Accra.

The informant (name withheld) told Onua FM’s morning show Yensempa on Friday that “I work to help Ghana and on Wednesday I had a call from the Greater Accra Police Commander, COP Dampare that he was looking for the said man. I told him if that is the man he is looking for, then I know where he is”.

He said “I gave them information and as I am speaking, the Police Commander is calling me after the arrest so let me speak to him and come back to you”, he told Onua FM’s Yensempa producer, Kweku Antwi-Otoo.

The informant later explained that the police have asked him not to speak again to the media for now since investigation is ongoing.
