Insect bite leaves SHS student with swollen lips days before WASSCE

An unidentified final-year student taking part in the ongoing West Africa Senior Secondary School Examination (WASSCE), has been bitten by a strange insect, leaving her lips swollen.

This was shared recently on X by a user named With Alvin, who stated, “This young lady almost lost her life just days to her WASCCE exams. She was bitten by a strange insect no where but on the mouth.”

The 2024 WASSCE commenced on Monday, August 19, 2024, and will run until Friday, September 20, 2024.

A total of 460,611 candidates from 1,003 schools are participating, representing a 2.66% increase from 2023.
