Sunyani, Nov. 10, GNA - The Brong-Ahafo Regional branch of Ghana Institution of Surveyors was on Thursday inaugurated with a call on the institution to help ensure sanity in the building industry. Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, who made the call challenged the Institution to further ensure that developers complied with building regulations.
He said the birth of the regional branch was timely since the manpower base was increasing in the region and expressed the hope that the institution would effectively play its role to sanitise land administration in the region.
Mr. Baffour-Awuah advised members to educate and protect the image of the institution at all times and it was their duty and responsibility to wipe out quack surveyors.
Mr Kwaku Amoah Mensah, the National President of the institution, explained that the branch executives served as a forum for exchange of ideas as well as a unified channel for propagating the ideals of the institution.
He advised members to render quality services to gain public trust and confidence.
Mr. Anthony Baissana, regional vice chairman of the institution, gave the assurance that the branch would work diligently and continue to serve public interest.
He said the branch had a membership of 21 made up of 12 professional associates and 9 technicians.
