Accra,(Greater Accra) 4 Nov. A three-day international workshop on incorporating nutrition considerations into agricultural research plans and programmes today opened in Accra with a call for multi- disciplinary collaboration in the fight against malnutrition in the developing world. The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr. Mike K. Akyeampong, said the fight against malnutrition and food insecurity in the developing world ''calls for a multi-disciplinary coordination and collaboration''. All policy makers, agricultural researchers, nutrition workers, farmers and consumers need to be involved and committed to this objective. The workshop is organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to provide governments and agricultural research institutions with guidelines to incorporate nutrition in the planning and implementation of research and development activities. Some 30 participants from 11 countries and bilateral and multi- lateral organizations are attending the workshop.
