The Minister of Interior, Ambrose P. Dery has supported 206 individuals by equipping with the needed business startup tools to facilitate them in their chosen careers in the Nandom Constituency of the Upper West region.
Hon. Ambrose Dery who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, disclosed that the gesture is in line with government’s drive and commitment towards job creation and empowerment of the youth and women’s in the country.
To this end, he hinted of plans to extend the gesture to other communities in the area aimed at empowering them economically in order to generate incomes to cater for their respective families.
The lawmaker appealed to beneficiaries to use the items for the intended purpose explaining to them various pro-poor policies and programmes being initiated by the Akufo-Addo led administration which is targeted at reducing poverty levels to the barest minimum.
“The government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is concerned about you and your families and will work towards ensuring that poverty not only in Nandom but the whole of Ghana is reduced. Let us keep faith in him and continue to support this government to deliver on the many promises it made to you”, he urged.
Beneficiaries among other things received sewing machines and hair dryers.
