Diaso (C/R), March 5, GNA-The people of Diaso near Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central region have appealed to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to send a team of investigators to unravel the mystery surrounding three murder cases in the area which no clue has been found in respect of the perpetrators since October last year.
According to the people, the situation had led to fear and panic within the communities in the area.
In a resolution to the IGP signed by Mr Isaac Aidooh, the assemblyman and three others, the people said all the three murder cases had been investigated by the local police at Nkotumeso, Ananekrom and Besease but since then no clue had been found to bring the offenders to book.
The resolution recounted the last murder case in October 4, 2004 in which the decomposed body of one Kwesi Tih alias John Osei Eric, a 52-year-old akpeteshie distiller was found at the outskirt of the town with no cloth but leaves and cement blocks packed on the body.
It said the community was shocked when it was detected that the head, heart and the genital organs of the deceased had been removed.
The resolution said a report was made to the police and one Kwaku Tawiah who was said to have gone to distil the akpeteshie with the deceased was arrested.
The following day, according to the resolution, a team of police officers from Dunkwa-On-Offin came to Diaso to inspect the body and surprisingly ordered for its burial without any post-mortem examination. The people maintained that since then the police had not visited the town to continue with their investigations even though the dress he was wearing when he went to the bush had been found in the room of a suspect soaked with blood.
The community declared, "this had led to fear and panic and therefore call on the IGP to dispatch a team of investigators to the area to assist the local police to bring the perpetrators to book".
