Very credible information reaching The Informer has it that the Akuse Dam may be collapsing any moment from now, due to the constant vehicular movement over it as a result of the repair works being carried out on the Akosombo-Adome Bridge.
According to The Informer’s technical and very impeccable source, the Akuse Dam was not constructed to carry the kind of weight it is now being forced to carry.
“The Dam is facing imminent collapse if no immediate steps are taken to reverse the current trend,” the source told this Paper.
According to the source, it is rather surprising that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Mr. Kirk Coffie and his Team of engineers, are sitting idly by and waiting for the Dam’s collapse.
“It is unbelievable that the very experienced engineers at VRA are not being bold enough to advise government about the technical details concerning the Akuse Dam,” the worried source said.
The source fears that, with the shutting down of the Bui Dam, the country will face a more serious energy crisis if the Akuse Dam is allowed to collapse.
Indeed, the source wondered if some form of sabotage is not going on to collapse the Dam so that the Mahama administration will have a lot more headache.
“I will not be surprised if some people have decided to hide the truth from the President. Maybe some people want this government to fail so that their Party can come to Power,” said the rather disturbed source; adding that the least said about Kirk Coffie regarding his capabilities to manage VRA, the better.
Editors Note: Will the government sit down and watch the Akuse Dam Collapse? If the Dam collapses, at least, our conscience will not prick, because we warned government about it.
In fact, The Informer will reveal in days to come why the incompetence of Kirk Coffie led to the massive resignation of four (4) Board Members including Professor…
