J E Sarpong unimpressed with Ghana Normalisation Committee's work

Former Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars coach J.E Sarpong says Ghana football's Normalisation Committee is deviating from their core mandates after only three months in office.

The interim four-man body was appointed by Fifa in August to run the day-to-day activities of the sport following Ghana FA's dissolution in June due to corrupt practices.

They are expected to review the association's statutes to ensure compliance with the requirements of Fifa and Caf and make sure a new election is held by March 31, 2019.

“The Normalisation Committee is slow with their dealings. They are deviating and need to stick to their core mandate given to them by Fifa so that they can achieve success," Sarpong told Angel TV.

"They are expanding it to areas that they should not and this is complicating their work. Ghanaians want to see the roadmap and how they can watch local games every weekend so they should be on track and stop inviting pressure to themselves," he added.

Sarpong also attributed Ghana's poor showing at the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations to the turmoil between the Normalisation Committee and local organising committee.

"The Normalisation Committee were part of the main reasons why Ghana failed to qualify from the group stage of the Awcon. How many members identified themselves with the public to help the Black Queens?

"We never saw anyone, yet there were experienced men among them who could have helped. They rather left everything on the LOC boss Freda Prempeh including becoming the PRO at a point.

"All these factors resulted into our elimination, so they must be blamed for not helping the Black Queens and those around the team as expected," he added.
