ACP Kofi Boakye, former police Director of Operations has been reinstated into the Ghana Police Service with full benefits.

His reinstatement takes immediate effect and comes in the wake of a presidential pardon granted Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata by President Kufuor before he leaves office.

According to Frank Agyakum Deputy Minister of Information who confirmed the news, the state has no interest in pursuing the case any longer and that the move is part of President Kufuor’s landmark decisions before he leaves office.

ACP Kofi Boakye was interdicted in 2006 following a recommendation by the Georgina Wood Committee which investigated the loss of 77 parcels of cocaine aboard the MV Benjamin ship.
