NPP Parliamentary aspirant for Subin constituency, Joseph Boakye Danquah has joined the fight against the spread of the Novel Coronavirus by distributing free face masks to residents of Fante New Town, a suburb of Kumasi in Ashanti region.
The astute financial and tax consultant, in his bid to help curb the spread of the deadly virus in the region donated over thousand pieces of face masks to residents of Fante New Town and other neighbouring towns on Saturday, May, 16, 2020.
Overwhelmed by the benevolence of Mr Danquah who is also the Chairman of NPP Minnesota Chapter, USA, Kojo Bawuah, a resident of the town expressed his profound gratitude to the politician for the gesture he described as a timely intervention to help them protect themselves against the highly contagious and deadly disease.
“We are deeply touched by the kindness of Mr JB Danquah. This is a clear evidence that, if he is given the mandate of a legislator for the Subin constituency, he will deliver all promises and represent us well in parliament,” he added.
The aid comes at a time when the Health Minister, Hon Kweku Agyemang Manu has ordered the public to observe strict adherence to the mask-wearing protocol as one of the key measures to ensure the malaise does not spread further in communities across the country.
The case count of Coronavirus in the Ashanti region as of the time of filing this report was 818, while the nationwide cases stood at 5,735.
