Kwesi Pratt JNR's continuous and sustained crusade against bad governance and injustice in society has won the admiration of one of his political foes- former President Jerry Rawlings.

The journalist, politician and social commentator is one the fiercest critics of the Rawlings regime since 1979.

He has however won the admiration of many, and now the former President for his continuous fight against what he considers injustice, even with the change in government.

Kwesi Pratt JNR contributed greatly to the electoral victory of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to power, but has not fallen short of criticizing them when they go wrong.

Unlike many other journalists and social commentators who claim to have helped remove the NDC from office, and have resorted to glorifying all NPP actions including serious infractions, Mr. Pratt JNR has maintained his objectivity in ensuring that he gives praise where it is due, and criticize where necessary.

At a New Year reception hosted by the former President at which Mr. Pratt was present, Rawlings congratulated him for his sense of objectivity, which he said, impresses him.

"We need a few more people like that, people who live on principles and not money or the material gains they will get."

Rawlings who has clearly been surprised y the 'crusading' role taken by Kwesi Pratt since January last year, and which has earned him new enemies, said "Kwesi Pratt is just as stubborn as he (Rawlings) is and cannot keep quite when there is one injustice or the other going on.

Kwesi Pratt JNR shared a table with NDC hot shots like Ningo- Prampram MP, Enoch Teye Mensah, drank, ate and shared thoughts on a number of issues.

A colleague journalist remarked to myghananews.com "it is not rare to have such camaraderie between two political foes, who until about a year ago saw things differently and never thought about meeting to share jokes."

Kwesi Pratt himself later joined the high table to exchange greetings with Mr. and Mrs. Rawlings amidst the sharing of jokes. Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings had earlier gone to Kwesi Pratt's table where they exchanged greetings.

This was a man who was jailed over seventeen times by the Rawlings government.

Commenting on that, the former president said he does not recollect those incidents, emphasizing that it will mean putting aside governmental control to concentrate on one man. "Why? Don't I have anything else to do," he said amidst laughter.

He however admitted that in the heat of the revolution, it is probable that he (Pratt) was picked up on his directive, because then things were hot and people been told the wrong things could inflame the situation.
