SHUT UP
Enough is Enough!
Nana Konadu’s Stranglehold on her husband and former president, Jerry John Rawlings seems to have caved in after the former military strongman is reported last Saturday to have yelled at the former first lady “enough is enough; I had endured this nonsense for a long time and am not going to allow it anymore.” Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings’ anger with his better-half according to a family source stem from Nana Konadu’s association and over pampering of loud-mouth Ernest Owusu Bempah, a close aide and a Deputy Communication Director of her National Democratic Party (NDP).
Loose-talking Owusu Bempah was reported to have made statements purposely implicating the Rawlingses in the abduction and murder of three high court judges and a military officer in 1982. He has also made it an article of faith at the least opportunity to deride President John Mahama and his infant administration. Speaking at a function organized by a new pressure group, ‘Let My Vote Count Alliance’, to rally support for Nana Akuffo Addo and Co who are challenging President John Mahama’s legitimacy as the winner of the 2012 Presidential election two weekends ago at Taifa, Accra, Ernest Owusu Bempah, also known as ‘Billy Goat’ warned the Judges of the Supreme Court hearing the electoral petition of the gruesome murder of their colleagues that fateful year the possibility of the dastardly act repeated if justice is seen not to be done in the said case.
The despicable act of the murder of the judges happened paradoxically under the regime of former President Rawlings.
Even though, the former president was not directly implicated in the criminal act, a senior member of his government, Amartey Kwei, was eventually exposed to have been behind it and was tried and shot.
However, keys of the vehicles allegedly used for the operations, an enquiry report later revealed were traced from the dining table of the former first lady, Nana Konadu’s living room, leading to some people questioning the innocence of the former first couple.
Jerry Rawlings is reported to be traumatized and fuming with rage, wondering the real motive of chatty Owusu Bempah, who is very closed to his wife, Nana Konadu, when he insinuate that “do we remember the judges who were killed, am asking the Supreme Court judges? Do we also remember that it was during the revolution? The former president for the first time in many years on Saturday sternly talked down the former first lady who according to a close source sobbed uncontrollable. He warned her to wake up to the realization that he is for John Mahama today and every day to come.
“I had enough of this trash, what do you take me for, and why do you allow your hatred for John make you surround yourself with characters like this, you better do something about it because enough is enough,’” Jerry Rawlings told a weeping Konadu.
Media reports last week quoted garrulous Owusu Bempah denying reports Nana Konadu was rejoining her mother party, the NDC.
In reaction to our lead story suggestion Konadu is on her way back to the NDC, he told Daily Guide “I’ve spoken to her and I’m speaking on authority that she is not going to join the NDC. That is going to be the last thing she’s going to do in her life, to go back and join the NDC,” he noted
According to Owusu Bempah “she feels that there is a heavy burden that has been taken off her shoulders and very happy in the NDP.”
