Snippets of information reaching peacefmonline.com indicate that Mr. Atta Kwabena Kumah, a Mortuary Attendant at the 37 Military Hospital who gained profuse media attention following the narration of a story about him by ex-President Jerry John Rawlings at the National Congress of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), held at Tamale last year, has passed onto eternal glory.
Peacefmonline.com sources say “Atta Mortuary Man” passed away at the 37 Military Hospital yesterday, Friday, July 8 after a short illness.
He hails from Kete Krachi in the Volta region and died at the age of 82.
Atta is said to have worked at the 37 Military Hospital Morgue for 42 years.
During the 8th Delegates' Congress of the ruling NDC held between January 15-17 at the Tamale West African Examinations Hall which saw party members thought to be either pro-Rawlings or pro-Mills gaining key positions in the party, ex-President Rawlings upon taking his turn to address the congress told a story about a so-called friend of his called ‘Atta’.
