Ho, July 21, GNA - A Ho Circuit Court has sentenced a 24-year-old mechanic to three years' imprisonment for loitering around premises unlawfully.

Prosper Papa Goga pleaded not guilty but was sentenced based on his previous criminal convictions before the same court.

Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kwame Osei, told the court, presided over by Mr Daniel Mensah, that the convict was found on the premises of one Torsten Bensman at about 1100 hours on May 15, this year.

He said the convict took to his heels and jumped a fenced wall upon seeing the complainant.

ASP Osei said the complainant, having identified the convict, pursued him but was unsuccessful in his attempt. He said the complainant went to the Police station the next day to make a report only to find the convict in custody on a different charge. ASP Osei said a formal complaint was lodged, and the convict charged with loitering the premises with unlawful purpose. The Judge in his sentence statement deferred the reasons of the sentence to be delivered on August 1, this year.
