Constituency executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) in Jaman South have invoked curses on their political opponents for peddling falsehood against the party.
According to the NDC party, some of its opponents are going round in the area telling the residents that the NDC has written a letter asking that the roads in Jaman North should not be constructed otherwise they’ll lose the upcoming 2020 election because the party currently occupies the Parliamentary seat.
They’ve asked the dreaded gods of the area to deal ruthlessly with anyone who’s spreading such false propaganda against them to make the NDC unpopular.
“We beseech all the deities, river gods in Jaman North, we’ve called upon you this afternoon as members of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) We are very angry. There is a false allegation being peddled against us by our political opponents. We all saw that in 2016 the construction of Sampa roads began, the project was not completed before the NDC was voted out of power. When the new government assumed power, we expect to see the project being continued. Recently President Akufo Addo came to this area to cut the sod for the construction of our town roads. But recently there’s rumour that we the NDC has written a letter saying Jaman North Parliamentary seat is held by us and so if the roads in this constituency are constructed we’ll lose the upcoming 2020 elections so the NDC is impressing on the contractors not to do the roads.
“This allegation against the NDC is false, we’ve done everything thing to dismiss the claims but it’s not working. So we are calling you this hot afternoon to come and witness for us that if there’s anyone in the NDC who has written the said letter to stop the construction of Jaman North roads or development in this area, call that person to the next world and deal ruthlessly with him or her. But if that is not the case, but if it is just mere propaganda by our opponents to make the NDC unpopular in Jaman North then immediately invite that person to join you in the underworld for the person to answer queries. We implore you now, our ancestors,” the executive who led the invocation of curses prayed the gods.
The Jaman North NDC Constituency Chairman, Sah Abraham in an interview with Kasapa News Bonohene Baffuor Awuah justified their action saying it is painful to be falsely accused.
