The Jamasiman Kuo, a benevolent society in New York and New Jersey, in the United States of America has donated 5,000 dollars in support of a water supply project being undertaken by the people of Jamasi in the Afigya/Sekyere District of the Ashanti Region.

Mr Victor Amponsah, an executive member of the society, comprising citizens of the town there, presented the money to the District Chief Executive Mr Ben Abankwah at Jamasi.

Mr Amponsah said the gesture was in response to an appeal for funds for the completion of the project by the people and opinion leaders of the town.

He gave the assurance that the society would continue to contribute to the development of the town, provided the money was used judiciously and urged the people to cooperate with the Unit Committee to enable it to achieve its objectives.

Mr Abankwah on behalf of the people thanked the Jamasiman Kuo for the assistance and expressed the hope that it would continue to assist the town in diverse ways to improve the standard of living of the people.

Miss E.S.A Serwah, chairperson of the Jamasi Town Council, also commended the Society for the donation and promised that the amount would be used for the purpose for which it was donated.

She appealed to other Jamasi citizens both home and abroad to contribute meaningfully to the development of the town.
