The Founder and President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has criticized the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC), following the new role she has assigned to Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, a Deputy Commissioner of the EC.

Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, formerly responsible for the Electoral Service, was appointed as the new Training Director at the Electoral Commission's headquarters.

A letter dated April 30, 2024, signed by the EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, announced the appointment.

Benjamin Banor-Bio, the former head of the Ashanti Regional office, will now assume the position of Director of Electoral Services, the statement said.

Reacting to this in a post shared on X, on Thursday, June 6, 2024, Franklin Cudjoe described the new appointment of Dr. Serebour as a demotion.

He wondered why the deputy commissioner was removed from the role of Director of Electoral Service, because to him, Dr. Serebour was a good communicator.

"Jean Mensa demotes Serebour, who actually helps the EC communicate a little better than all the commissioners.

"Training department paaa? What will he be training people in? Ah!!!!," the IMANI boss wrote.
