Deputy Minister of Trade, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed
A former Deputy Minister of Trade in the John Mahama's administration, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, has accused President Akufo-Addo of appointing a relative to head the Electoral Commission.
The President on Monday nominated Jean Mensa of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) as the new EC boss pending advice from the Council of State.
The opposition NDC has condemned the nomination saying Mrs. Mensa is pro- NPP.
Backing the claim on his Facebook page Wednesday, Murtala Mohammed alleged that Mrs. Mensa cannot be neutral since she is the niece of the First Lady.
