'Jesus didn't die for me' - Kyiri Abosom claims

Controversial Ghanaian pastor, Christian Kwabena Andrew, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has made a bold statement that has sparked conversations on social media.

In a video that went viral on X on November 19, 2025, Osofo Kyiri Abosom claimed that the biblical story of Jesus Christ is false and a scam created to deceive Christians.

He emphasised that the story that Jesus Christ died for all mankind is not true.

According to Osofo Kyiri Abosom, Jesus died only for the Israelites.

“Jesus didn’t die for a certain group of people, which is the Israelites. He came to them, but I am not part of those people because he didn’t come during my time. Even my great-grandfathers were not alive when he was on earth, so how can they say he came to die for me?

“The story about him is all lies and a scam. I don’t believe in that story… How can you tell me he came to die for you when your parents were not even alive?” he said.

Osofo Kyiri Abosom further reiterated that the story about Jesus Christ was used to enslave Africans.

According to the controversial pastor, he would have believed in Christianity if it had been beneficial to his ancestors.

“The story was sold to us by those who made us slaves. If my great-grandparents were not wise enough to know that the story sold to them was all lies, I am wise enough to know that.

“The story about Jesus Christ has no benefit, and it didn’t help us, so there is no need for me to follow it. Assuming Christianity helped my parents, I would have believed in it and followed it, but it didn’t; moreover, everyone can mention Jesus’ name,” he added.
