A group of 55 members of the Ghanaian Armed Forces and 20 men from a US special force on Friday began participating in a four-week Ghana-US military training exercise at the jungle warfare school at Achiase, Eastern Region, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) reported.

The school's acting commanding officer, Major Owusu Frempong, said the troops would be taken through infantry skills - which include airborne assault operations, marksmanship and small unit tactics - and medical skills such as advanced trauma management.

The exercise is part of a Joint, Combined, Exchange and Training (JCET) programme between the two countries. Such programmes are carried out throughout the world, including 20 African countries.
