Gave New Town D.A Junior High School A Good Face-Lift Through Painting

After twenty five (25) years since the establishment of the New Town D.A. Junior High School, it has now been given a good face-lift through painting by the Jomoro District National Service Personnel.

The painting project which was carried out by the Service Personnel themselves saw both male and female Personnel exhibiting their painting skills. The Service Personnel who showed much exuberance in painting the School, helped in transmogrifying the look of the School after the project. It was however spectacular watching or seeing the female National Service Personnel exhibiting their painting capabilities, as many of the community folks came looking at them with much surprises on their face.

In an interview with the President of Jomoro District National Service Personnel, Mr. Nelson Kpatakpa, he posited that the painting project was one of their little ways of contributing their quota towards development of the District. According to him as the wise Latin dictum “Cui Multum Datum” meaning to whom much is given much is expected stipulates, Service Personnel in the Jomoro District have recognized the gargantuan contribution of the Ghanaian Community or Society as a whole in given them good, quality and higher education, through the numerous taxes that they paid and that it is about time that they as fresh graduates started to give back to the society by contributing towards its development.

He further intimated that, Ghanaians as a whole cannot continue to leave every developmental agendum to the government, since the government alone cannot do everything.

Mr. Nelson Kpatakpa also inferred that the painting project was also to equip Service personnel in the District the opportunity to acquire basic requisite skills in painting, so as to enable them embark on their domestic individual paintings after they completed their National Service.

He also used the opportunity to call on other National Service executives, to emulate this benevolent gesture or project in their various districts, so as to leave an indelible mark there after the completion of their Service period, and not to only be concerned about organizing extravagant beach parties, excursions and dinners.

The headmaster of the New Town D.A Junior High School, Mr. Joseph Mozou Tanoe on behalf of the staff and students of the School expressed their profound gratitude to the Jomoro District National Service Personnel and inferred that twenty five (25) years after the building of the school, it has never been painted, until now.

Mr. Mozou however showered full praises on the 2011/2012 batch of the Jomoro District National Service Personnel, stating that no amount of adjective can qualify how much they appreciate their effort.

He also called on other associations and organizations in the country to complement the effort of the government by emulating the kind gesture showed by the Jomoro District National Service Personnel.
