A Kenyasi Circuit Court judge was forced to order a police prosecutor out of his court on Tuesday because he could not speak the English language.
According to Judge Christian Haji, Chief Inspector Ashy’s inability to string words together in the Queen’s language was making it difficult for him to understand a fraud case involving a self-styled soldier before him.
The court audience found it difficult controlling their laughter, despite the persistent order from the judge for absolute silence.
Judge Haji, according to Nana Opoku Piesie of Atinka FM, had it tough suppressing his laughter and immediately ordered the prosecutor out of his court.
He said the prosecutor “looked terribly confused during proceedings.”
The judge adjourned the case to June 23 to enable the prosecution to present someone who can speak good English.
