The District Court Magistrate allegedly using a chamber pot in attending to nature’s call in her office in Kasoa has been transferred.

Felicia Gandeji, made the headlines after she showed the Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo a chamber pot she has been using due to what she claims is the lack of washrooms at the court.

The Chief Justice, who was informed about the development she while touring the Kasoa court in the Central Region indicated the court risked closure by the end of the year if the appalling condition at the court prevails.

But the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Kasoa, Michael Yaw Ashiman Mensah has denied the development from his jurisdiction saying there are currently three female washrooms in that facility with one specifically assigned to the Magistrate Court Judge.

Contrary to the emerging stories, he said the condition of the facility under contention is enough to make one comfortable.

“You can also ask yourself that a Judge that we’ve rented an apartment for, an estate facility for, why would we fail to give you toilet facility when we’ve gone out of our way to get you a flat. I want to plead that the workload in Kasoa is not small without the courts we cannot deliver, we must work hand-in-hand to ensure that the truth prevails. I understand the Judge has been transferred, it was yesterday that I got to know because when the story broke and I was finding out I got to know he’s been transferred. However, I’m standing by the new judge that will come we’ll see how we can get things sorted it.”
