A former commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Emile Francis Short has stated that the judicial scandal by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas could be a blessing in disguise.

According to him, the measures being taken by the Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood, in dealing with the scandal so far has been satisfying.

He added that the judiciary could come out better if the processes are transparent and handled properly.

“The exposé by Anas could be a blessing in disguise… in the long run we would come out better with a much enhanced judiciary if the process is handled well,” Justice Short told Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday.

Thirty-four magistrates and High Court judges and 180 judicial service workers were caught on video demanding for monies, goats and sex to influence cases before their courts.

Twenty-two magistrates and seven High Court judges have so far been suspended by the Chief Justice.
