The strike action of jurors has entered its seventh week, with some high-profile cases still suffering adjournments at the courts.

This has affected cases like the Kasoa ritual murder case, Daniel Asiedu, alias Sexy Don Don, Richard Appiah, accused of killing two teenagers at Abesim, and Pius Ayoma, among others, which have all suffered one adjournment after another following the absence of jurors.

For seven weeks since May 16, 2024, the jurors have laid down their tools over a 10-month unpaid allowance.

On Monday, July 8, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo's Court adjourned the Kasoa ritual murder case to July 23.

The case was called for judgment, but the absence of jurors means the court is handicapped.

EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent, Murtala Inusah, who is in court, has reported that four months of the jurors' allowances have been settled, but the jurors are still holding onto their resolve.
