A renowned nephrologist with the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Dr. Perditer Okyere has bemoaned the high cost of treatment for kidney patients at the facility calling for the government's intervention as well as support from individuals and philanthropists.
According to Dr. Perditer Okyere, the cost of dialysis and transplant for patients with kidney diseases receiving treatment at the facility is unbearable therefore her appeal to the government to provide additional financial support for patients to reduce more deaths
She explained that dialysis in Korle-Bu prices about GH¢260 and between GH¢200 to GH¢190 at Komfo Anokye per a session, including that sufferers want three periods per week, together with different treatment
