Kumasi, March 10, GNA - Workhardt Limited, a multi-national Irish Pharmaceutical Company, on Thursday donated a large quantity of Powercef, a fast acting anti-biotic, valued at more than 20 million cedis to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
The drug is used for the treatment of meningitis, typhoid, pneumonia, bronchitis, bone and joint infections. Mr Boahene Yeboah, Marketing Manager of Sharp Pharmaceutical Company, sole agent of Workhardt in Ghana, said the donation was the company's contribution towards efforts at improving the quality of health care at the hospital, and expressed the hope that the drug would be of tremendous relief to patients.
Mr Yeboah said the company had selected the Tamale Government Hospital for a similar donation. The Director of Administration of KATH, Mr Albert Asiedu-Offei, expressed his appreciation to the benefactors for their kind gesture.
