Kumasi, March 5, GNA - The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has donated mini buses to four of its Sub-Metropolitan Councils to facilitate revenue collection and enhance their operation. Suame, Asawase, Manhyia and Nhyiaeso were the beneficiaries. Mr Samuel Sarpong, the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), said they were bought from the KMA's share of the District Assemblies Common Fund. He said he was confident that the Councils would put the vehicles to effective use to boost revenue. Mr Sarpong warned against their misuse, saying, under no circumstance should the buses be used for private business at the expense of the development of the sub-metropolitan areas. Mr Sarpong said it was by so doing that they would be deepening and strengthening the country's decentralization. KMA, he said, would not relent in its efforts at addressing the development challenges of the metropolis and called on the people to support the assembly by paying their taxes.
