Kumasi, Oct. 14, GNA - The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has honoured former CNN Africa Director, Mr Edward Boateng, for his contribution to the growth of the media in Africa. Mrs Vesta Adu- Gyamfi, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Arts, said the University was proud of Mr Boateng's significant input to the development of the media.

She said the former Africa Director deserved commendation for helping to project a good image of the Continent to the outside world. Mr Boateng an alumnus of the KNUST said he was humbled by the honour and pledged to continue working hard to uplift the image of Ghana and Africa.

He said he was confident that the students would be inspired by the honour to excel in wherever endeavour they might find themselves. Mr Boateng asked them to be disciplined, honest and remain focused in life, adding that any habit they cultivated during their school days would "certainly follow them to wherever they go". He called on the students to distance themselves from all forms of reprehensible lifestyles.

"The universities and other institutions are good avenues to upgrade their knowledge and character so they should take advantage of them to add value to themselves to become useful to society after their education," he said.
