Kadjebi DCE cuts sod for the construction of classroom blocks

Mr. Maxwell Kofi Asiedu, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Kadjebi in the Oti Region has cut the sod for the construction of three-unit classroom block each for the Kadjebi Evangelical Presbyterian Central Junior High School (JHS) and Okanta District Assembly (D/A ) JHS.

The classroom blocks will each include offices, a store, a staff common room, and a library, with the Kadjebi E.P Central JHS project costing GH?380,000.00 while that of Okanta D/A JHS pegged at GH¢418,114.00.

Both projects are being funded from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and will replace dilapidated structures serving as classrooms.

Mr. Asiedu at the sod-cutting ceremony entreated parents to enroll their children in school, adding that giving them quality education was the greatest investment in their lives.

The DCE also advised the pupils to study hard, to justify the investment government and their parents were making in them.

Ms. Grace Lolor Abla Bonuedi, Kadjebi District Director of Education, said there was a need to promote girl-child education in the country because its benefits were enormous, such as bridging the poverty gap, gender disparity, and creation of a just society.

Nana Owusu Sekyere II, Akwamuhene of Kadjebi Traditional Area, commended the Kadjebi District Assembly for the project, saying, education was opening up the area for rapid growth and prayed the projects were done in time.
