Deputy Minister of Communications, George Andah has reiterated that the ministry is doing the right thing as far as the Kelni GVG contract is concerned

According to him the applicants seeking an interlocutory injunction were clearly misinformed about the contract.

This comes after an Accra High Court presided over by Justice Anthony Yeboah dismissed the injunction application seeking to stop government from going ahead with the implementation of the common platform to monitor revenue patterns of telecommunication companies.

The presiding judge said the application by the two applicants Sara Asafu-Adjaye and Maximus Amertogoh was based on public debate the applicants had been feeding on and lacked merit.

He added that the applicants failed to provide their source of information and lacked evidence to back their claim that their privacy would be breached if the contract is executed.

Deputy Minister of Communication George Andah speaking to journalists after the ruling said it (the ruling) clearly shows that the Ministry of Communication is doing the right thing.

“I believe that it’s just a matter of been misinformed and clearly in the judgment you could realize that the judge was saying that there was no basis for some of the claims that was informing the application as far as he was concern and I think this clearly shows that we are doing the right thing. We listening to the concerns and I hope that this would inform everybody to believe what the minister of communication has been saying consistently that we are doing this for Ghana and in the best interest of Ghana.” He said.
