Forty-five days after President John Mills’ sad demise, one of his vitriolic attackers, Kennedy Agyapong has found a new victim in his successor President John Dramani Mahama, threatening fire and brimstone on the decent man who is yet to be added to the list of foul-mouthed politicians.
Mr. Agyapong, who is at best a notorious radio yobbo but a pitiful flop when it comes to parliamentary debates and other duties, has served notice on President Mahama to “get his pants ready” because he (Kennedy) is going to strip him bare by “going ‘all-die-be-die’ with him”.
President Mahama’s crime against Kennedy is that he said the Mills administration was going to use a bulldozer to kill an ant in a response to ex-President John Kufuor’s claim against the Mills administration that it was using a sledgehammer to kill an ant by prosecuting Kennedy on the charge of terrorism over his recent genocidal rantings, on OMAN FM radio..
Mr. Agyapong, who is the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin North in the Central Region, was speaking on his private radio station, Oman FM, on a programme called “Boiling Point”, last Tuesday.
He spoke in Twi interspersed with English (Twiglish)
The man, who is currently in Court, facing criminal prosecution for genocidal incitements, was commenting on the so-called evil plot tape on the National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan.
He insisted that he had a lot of information on President Mahama, which he was going to make public in the run-up to the elections, and that the president would regret he ever contested the forthcoming presidential polls in December, adding “He should go all out and kill me with a bulldozer. I will die for this nation because Ghana first”.
He did not spare the late President Mills, saying he was a hypocrite who pushed Nii Lantey Vanderpuije into visiting violence on people in Odododiodio, while he (Mills) professed to be a man of peace.
He said that the government was made up of “corrupt and incompetent leaders”.
He indicated that he had a lot of information on the President, but have had to “suppress it” because he thought Mr. Mahama liked him since he sent him hampers every Christmas.
But now, the battle lines are drawn between him and the President for having countered ex-President Kufuor’s statement, saying that he (Kennedy) should be killed with a bulldozer for saying Ewes and Gas should be killed.
While insulting President Mahama, he tasked him to ensure peace in the country during the upcoming elections, saying he faces a herculean task to ensure that peace prevailed in the country since some elements in his (Mahama) government, are evildoers and nation wreckers.
He claimed that a certain Mohammed, who was injured recently, was slashed by the people wearing National Security badges.
Meanwhile, long before issuing the threat against President Mahama, Mr. Agyapong, had recently told some sympathizers of the NPP based in Germany that Ghanaians would soon be disappointed in the Mahama administration because there would be no improvement in governance as well as their lives, but rather a continuation of the failed and discredited policies that had been in place since 2009. Mr. Agyapong, is quoted as saying Ghanaians should brace themselves for an increase in the level of corruption, ineptitude and incompetence that had characterized the NDC government since it assumed the reins of power. He was speaking at the official inauguration of the Bremen Chapter of the NPP in Germany.
He claimed that the personal involvement of President Mahama in the failed STX housing deal which cost the Ghanaian tax payer US$17 Million, the fraudulent circumstances surrounding the purchase of the Embraer 190 Jet for which Ghana paid US$54 Million instead of US$31 Million plus additional US$2 Million for staircase and US$1Million for the entertainment system as well as the questionable manner in which the ban on Amajaro was lifted by the then Vice-President raised questions about his integrity. According to the Assin North Legislator, businessmen perceived not to be sympathetic to the NDC, have become targets of an orchestrated campaign aimed at compelling such business entities to repay their loans under short notices.
He revealed that some business entities that owed GH¢ 20,000 were being compelled to sell company properties to repay their debts while the Ibrahim Mahama (the President’s brother) who was indebted to the Merchant Bank to the tune of 60, 000 Dollars had not been subjected to similar treatment, adding that if this was not economic apartheid then Ghanaians were yet to know what it was.
Mr. Agyapong maintained that corruption had become so endemic within the NDC government that Ministers, Party officials and other government appointees now see politics as an avenue to amass wealth and not as a privilege to serve, adding just under three years the Deputy Minister for local Government, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah had acquired a $650,000 property at East Legon. He therefore challenged him to explain to Ghanaians how he was able to acquire the said property within this short period.
He disclosed that the actual amount paid to Mr. Alfred Woyome as judgment debt was not GH¢ 51,000 as previously reported but GH¢ 94, 000 an amount that could have been used to provide free senior secondary education for 250,000 students for five years, adding that Akufo-Addo’s vision of providing free senior secondary School education is a vision that could easily be realized.
He urged Ghanaians to rally behind Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP to ensure victory on December 7.
