The utterances of Assin Central lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong, against Ahmed Hussein-Suale, an investigative journalist with Tiger Eye PI who was assassinated last week, smacked of irresponsibility, Prof Stephen Adei, a former rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), has said.

According to him, elsewhere, Mr. Agyapong would not have gone scot-free after inciting violence against the undercover journalist following Tiger Eye’s premiering of an investigative documentary called Number 12, which exposed rot in Ghana and African football.

Hussein-Suale was shot thrice on Wednesday, 16 January 2019 at Madina, a suburb of Accra while driving home around 10 p.m. His assailants made their getaway on a motorbike.

Apart from inciting violence against Hussein-Suale, Mr. Agyapong was seen in a clip exposing the undercover journalist’s identity by splashing his photos on his NET2 TV station as well as on social media.

Reacting to this development on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class 91.3FM with host Benjamin Akakpo, Prof Adei said: “It was irresponsible what he [Kennedy Agyapong] said. It is irresponsible today and will be irresponsible forever. Unfortunately, this is the only country you can say that and get away with it”.

“It is totally irresponsible.”
