The management of Kessben FM, a private radio station in Kumasi, brought smiles and joy on the faces of inmates of the Mampong Babies Home, ahead of the Christmas festivities, when the station presented items worth over GH¢20,000 to the home.

The items include diapers, toiletries, bags of rice and assorted drinks, which were mobilised through an appeal to listeners of the station.

An undisclosed amount of cash and clothes were also donated to workers of the home for their selfless and dedicated services.

The donation forms part of the station’s social responsibility and efforts at assisting the authorities of the home to celebrate this year’s Christmas festivities.

The General Manager of the station, Mr. Andrew Aninkrah, who led a team of staff of the station to do the presentation on Saturday, commended listeners of the station who donated generously towards the cause.

He said the gesture had been an annual occasion to give numerous listeners the opportunity to contribute their widow’s mite to assist the inmates of the home, who, through no fault of theirs, have found themselves in such an unfortunate situation.

The Proprietress of the Home, Mrs. Margaret Addai, could not hide her joy and excitement, describing the donation as one of the biggest ever in the history of the home.

She was full of gratitude to the management of Kessben FM and its listeners, calling on God the Almighty to bless them for their benevolence.
