The number of people who lost their lives in the boat accident that occurred at Kete Krachie in the Volta Region on Wednesday, 30 May, has risen to eleven.
Kinsley Chamba, a Laboratory Technician at the Kete Krachie Government Hospital, where the victims were rushed to, confirmed the death toll to Chief Jerry Forson on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.

“The number of people who have lost their lives is now eleven. Just this morning [Friday] some of them were confirmed dead,” he said.
The initial death toll as of Thursday was 9.
The owner of the boat Akwasi Aweyeh, who also lost his daughter in the accident, has been arrested by the police to assist with investigations.
The victims were travelling to Sipom, an island.
