Ketu South MCE takes fight against the spread of Coronavirus to the market

On Monday 16th March 2020 the M.C.E. of Ketu South, Hon. Elliot Edem Agbenorwu met with the PHEMC on the preparedness to contain the Coronavirus being a Border Municipality.

Later in the day same Monday, some members of the Public Health Emergency Management Committee met with members of the local Christian leaders (council of churches) and Moslem leaders to officially communicate the directive of H.E. the President and deliberate on its enforcement.

After that letters were written to traditional authorities to inform them of the President’s directives.

Following that and on Tuesday 17th March 2020, the traditional authorities were on our local radio stations to enforce the directives.

A task force was formed comprising BNI and some security officers to enforce the directives in the Municipality

The municipal chief executive on Wednesday 18th March 2020 and in collaboration with the Municipal health directorates and the security services were in the DENU market (the largest market in the municipality) to create awareness on the existence, precaution and the President’s directive regarding the novel coronavirus disease

Early in the day, the municipal chief executive was on victory FM together with the health promotion officers to educate and create awareness.

Some Veronica buckets together with sanitizers were procured and delivered to stores today and will be distributed to some vantage points and some public institutions in the Municipality to help maintain the culture of handwashing.
