Ketu-South is still NDC "World Bank"-Zigah

Aflao, July 31, GNA - The Member of Parliament for Ketu-South, Mr Albert Zigah, has said the constituency remained the "World Bank" of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Zigah said this in reaction to the near stampede at Aflao during the unveiling on Tuesday of a giant billboard of Professor John Atta Mills, the party's presidential aspirant.

He said the unveiling of the billboard was an opportunity for the party to test the pulse of the people following the New Patriotic Party's recent outing in the constituency, he told the Ghana News Agency. Thousands of people clad in the NDC's paraphernalia took up the main street in the town singing and dancing forcing traffic to come to a standstill as travellers looked on in amazement. Mr. Zigah said events of the day were clear signals that the NPP was not on the ground in the Constituency.

Mr. Zigah said he has been a strong campaigner and lobbyist for the improvement of the Aflao/Accra highway including roads in the border area contrary to claims by his opponents that he has been a non-vocal Member of Parliament. He said about 100 projects in the constituency were to his credit in addition to supporting 100 students in the area.
