Founder of Key Mama Foundation, Mrs. Catherine Cudjoe has called for improved conditions for prisoners in the country.
For her, those incarcerated deserve to live under a conducive atmosphere to make them healthy.
She made these remarks when she made a need assessment visit, to the Ho Central Prisons and made a donation to the female inmates.
Her donation included ceiling fans and diapers among others. She also pledged to renovate some facilities at the prisons.
Speaking to The Spectator, Mrs. Cudjoe affectionately called Key Mama said, her visit, had made her realise the conditions, especially, at the male section which was not the best.
She noted that her foundation would also raise funds to support the carpentry and shoemaking shops of the prison and renovate other facilities.
Mrs Cudjoe disclosed that she would liaise with the Social Welfare Department to provide some support for porters.
She was accompanied on the visit by police officer and musician, Officer Kwesi Ofori of “Watch your tongue” fame.
