Kidnappings: Hoot at Sammy Gyamfi, others for politicizing crime - Koku Anyidoho

Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC, ) Koku Anyidoho has called on Ghanaians to hoot at the National Communications officer of his party, Sammy Gyamfi for politicizing crime.

He reveals that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly called ‘Wontumi’ should be treated same for politicizing kidnapping involving the two Canadian women.

A livid Koku Anyidoho said Chairman Wontumi and Sammy Gyamfi need to be cast out like demons for politicizing a serious crime like kidnapping describing them as a disgrace to their respective political parties and Ghana as a whole.

He said nation wreckers like Sammy Gyamfi and Wontumi should bow their heads in shame adding that the country has come of age where such crimes should not be politicized.

The former Deputy Scribe of NDC said its high time politicians from both sides learn how to watch their utterances in order not to destroy the nation.

In an interview with a local station monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he said, ‘As part of the mindset revolution, let us hoot at politicians who politicize crime, lets cast them out like demons, it’s a disgrace for politicians to be politicising crime, I feel like throwing up. NPP, NDC disgracefully politicizing the kidnapping of the Canadian women in Kumasi, both of them are saying Seidu Mba wore their opponent’s t-shirt, and so what?’.

Koku Anyidoho who has been missing in the political space for some time now promised to ensure that politicians who politicize crimes are shunned by Ghanaians.

His comments come after Chairman Wontumi in a recent interview with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com linked one of the suspects involved in the Canadian women kidnapping Seidu Yakubu Mba to the NDC’s vigilante group, the Hawks.

“He is with the Hawks and plays vital role for NDC. I can tell you that he was around during the recent gun shooting incident at NDC party office. He is neither NPP member nor a sympathizer of our great party. I know Seidu Yakubu has received Range Rover from Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and was also a personnel bodyguard of John Mahama”, he alleged on Nyhira FM.

In a rebuttal during a press conference on Thursday, June 13,2019 Sammy Gyamfi also alleged that Seidu Mba is an associate to some bigwigs in NPP.

‘Seidu’s association with the NPP is more than meets the eye. He is alleged to be the personal bodyguard of the Asokore Mampong MCE, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, and an errand boy for both Manhyia MP, Hon Mathew Opoku Prempeh and Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (aka Wontumi,’ Sammy Gyamfi claimed.

But Koku Anyidoho described the presser by his party as ‘disgraceful’ saying that is not how to win an election advising NDC and NPP to stop being petty.

He said petty politicians must be held for contempt for their attempt to destroy Ghana.
