Kikam Technical Institute receives a face-lift

Western Region based Kikam Technical Institute (KTI) has received support from Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ellembele Constituency, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah at the school premises today.

Addressing the students, the MP for the area recounted the numerous interventions made by his outfit over the years, including the state of the art oil and gas training facilities which has made kimtech the center of excellence in technical education

The MP advised the students to take the opportunity offered to them to study hard while on campus.

To this end, he said "this is an opportunity of a life time, it doesn't happen twice, it happens once in your life time and so the decisions you make every minute, hour and a day while in school will determine whether you succeed or fail in life."

He further voiced his excitement about the fact that a lot of companies are showing keen interest in a lot of the things happening in the school.

He however expressed disappointment about the limited number of girls who have been enrolled to acquire technical education in KTI since the school was turned from boys school into a mixed school.

Hon. Armah-Kofi said "technical education is the way for the future and we cannot afford to train boys without bringing in the girls there"

The MP assured the principal of his commitment to support the school’s effort to increase the number of girls and make Kimtech a true Co-educational institution.

Before assuming his seat, he presented a cheque of thirty thousand Ghana cedis a (Gh30,000) as seed money for the construction of a girl's dormitory in the school. A move the MP and the Principal believe will go a long way to improve on the infrastructure of the school and also help to enroll more girls when the project is fully completed.

The principal who also happens to be the first female to head the school also expressed her gratitude to Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for the support and kind gesture to Kimtech, describing him as a real pillar and champion of the school.

She appealed for more support saying "I am the happiest person today with you redeeming your promise, we assure you that, before the beginning of next term, you would come to see the work in progress."
