The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Alumni Association is to undertake a nationwide membership drive to register all alumni of the university.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Magnus Rex Danquah, Managing of RICS Consult Limited yesterday. The company is assisting in the organisation of the re-launch the Alumni.

It is under the theme of "Network for Accelerated Development of KNUST," and aims at revitalising the association to enable it to play a more meaningful role in the university's developmental efforts as well as the forthcoming KNUST Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

The programme will also be used to introduce the marketing of the 1,000-room Alumni multi-purpose Jubilee Hostel Project.

The hostel project is the association's own contribution towards assisting to ease the accommodation problems currently facing the University. The launch is scheduled to take place in Accra on Tuesday, May 24th.

According to the release, the association intends to evolve various marketing strategies, including a direct appeal to both civil society and institutions for support and contributions towards undertaking the project. It said a model of the hostel project complex would be unveiled at the launch.

RICS Consult Limited itself has been charged with the provision of financial engineering services for the KNUST Alumni multi-purpose hotel project, including syndication of sponsorship, sourcing of prospective investors and the appointment of a commercial bank as the official bankers for the two projects. The contact persons are Magnus Rex Danquah, Nana Adwoa Kwegir-Aggrey and Daniel Annang. They can be reached on 244225, 233458 and fax, 232212.
